Our primary firearms instructor, James “Woody” Woodland, is a retired Sheriff’s Sergeant who served 27 years with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in California. He also served 9 years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve as a Security Policeman. Over these 36 combined years of experience he worked assignments including Counterdrug Operations in the Caribbean region, Special Enforcement Teams, Problem Oriented Policing, Motorcycle Enforcement and Traffic Reconstruction, as well as ongoing firearms training and instruction.

At Right 2A Defense we strive to share this knowledge and experience with the citizens of Nash County and the surrounding area who have a desire to protect themselves and their families, and to increase their skills and safety with a firearm in a comfortable and friendly learning environment. We offer training for all levels of experience. Every law-abiding citizen has the constitutional right to bear arms, and more importantly, has the right to protect themselves and their family from harm. In today’s social climate, no one can protect you or your family better than you can!
