NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

Course Description

This six-hour course is designed to introduce you to basic firearms handling and safety. If you are a first-time gun owner, or you would just like to educate yourself to become safe and proficient, this course is a great way to develop confidence and skills. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

If you plan to take a Concealed Carry course, this Basic Pistol Shooting course is a great way to improve your firearm knowledge, safety and skills first.

This course does not meet the requirements for a Concealed Carry certificate. If you are not yet confident in your ability to handle, load, and unload firearms safely, please consider attending this course, or our NRA Women On Target® course, prior to attending the Concealed Carry course.

PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  Payment for this course is due at the time of registration.

Reschedules:

Emergency reschedules are only made at the discretion of Right 2 A Defense. In the case of an emergency reschedule, your payment will be credited to the future class date of your choosing.
